On Thursday 30th of March, hundreds skiers and snowboarders hit the Russian ski slopes of Rosa Khutor, Sochi in their bikinis and boardies in an attempt to break a Guinness World Record, previously made the year before.
The aim was to have the largest amount of swimwear clad people descend onto the ski slopes, ever, and this year they smashed it with a record number of 1,200 riders at the Boogel Woogel Ski festival.
Sochi’s end of season festival features a variety of different activities to celebrate the beginning of spring including a “beach” volleyball competition, and a pond skimming contest but the highlight of the weekend is definitely the en mass swimsuit race down the mountain. Anyone could enter, and apparently Russian ski instructors had to accompany quite a few novice, bikini clad skiers down the slopes…not that that was much of chore.
